We first met Ken and Margie some 30 years ago in Kentville when they had purchased a home from us. it was a big old 2 storey home that was originally built by a Lunenburg shipbuilder back in the '30s And boy did they do a number on that house renovating it from top to bottom transforming it into a structure fit to be a provincial heritage site. We would visit from time to time where Ken was always the friendly, welcoming, hospitable, and congenial host. He genuinely enjoyed having company over along with a laugh and an occasional lager from time to time. A skilled conversationalist with a debate style that was firm, fair, decent, considerate and always optimistic.. Ken was interesting, sharp as a tack, and very knowledgeable. We remember his odd way of expressing the time of day in bells (an old navy habit no doubt) instead of in hours. Ken was a dog lover and remember him conversing with their dog 'Danger' while he was spoiling him rotten (lol). It seems that Margie and Ken couldn't sit still in Kentville and they once again got the reno urge. Eventually, they headed out to new pastures to take on new challenges but we always kept in touch. We are so lucky to have met Margie and Ken and even luckier to have remained good friends with them all thru the years right up to Kens final days in Truro.
Wherever you are now Ken, we know that you have a smile on your face, a twinkle in your eye, and a hand that is extended outwards in friendship.
Our sincere sympathy to Margie and to all,,
Ken will be missed.
