Obituary of Kenneth Gordon Mount

MOUNT, Kenneth Gordon - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Gordon Mount (68), a devoted small business owner and tow truck driver from Lantz, Nova Scotia. On November 30th, Ken departed this life, surrounded by the love of his family. He is now at peace and reunited with his loved ones who preceded him in death: his parents Madelyn and Reginald Mount, daughter Jennifer Mount, stepson Bobby Gibson, and brothers Ray and Eddy Mount.

Ken is survived by fiancé Judy Wilson and cherished daughters, Nicole LeGrow (Dan) and Natalie Williams (Brad); stepson Danny Gibson, who all stood by his side through thick and thin. Also surviving are his grandson, Colton LeGrow; sister, Marie Loney (Roy); and many friends and colleagues.

A true trucker at heart, Ken's love for cars and trucks began in his youth at Ruggles Junkyard in Dartmouth. As a young adult, he took up entrepreneurship, serving as an owner-operator for Midland Transport for 15 years before pursuing his passion and establishing his own business, Ken's Towing.

Beyond being a tow truck driver, Ken was a pillar of strength in his community, renowned for his unwavering dedication to his work and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His friendly demeanour and warm smile endeared him to friends and colleagues alike. Ken was a busy man and a very hard worker. During moments of relaxation, he enjoyed attending antique car shows, camping, savouring a cold beer on the patio, and spending quality time with his family.

Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A Celebration of Ken's life will be held at a later date for Family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the IWK in Ken's name, reflecting his appreciation for the support they gave to his daughter Jennifer and grandson Colton.

Ken Mount's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the beautiful memories they shared with him.
