Obituary of Elsie Pearl Bond

BOND, Elsie Pearl - age 93 of Upper Rawdon. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Pearl (Roulston) Bond on September 18th, 2024, in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born on October 1st, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Barron) Roulston of Upper Nine Mile River.

Elsie was truly one of kind with a memorable story for everyone. Elsie was a dedicated school teacher for 27 years. She and her husband, Jim, of more than 60 years ran a Jersey dairy farm in Upper Rawdon. They travelled the world taking in farms and sites along the way including many trips to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto and also trips abroad with the World Jersey Conferences.

Elsie was always ready and willing to help anyone; she helped the community in so many ways. She was on the board of directors for many community organizations and if you have visited her you would have surely seen all the awards she has been presented with through the years. She loved her chickens and chatting with anyone who stopped in to buy her eggs.

Elsie was a dedicated member of the Windsor Bowling League and has been across Canada representing her bowling family. She took part in the seniors games on more than one occasion with her team and was happy to talk about her experiences.

Elsie is survived by her loving son, Peter (Shannon), Upper Rawdon; grandsons, Thomas and David Rafuse and families, Chester Road; several great grandchildren; her sister Helen Miller: special daughter, Mary Jeanne; several nieces and nephews.
