Obituary of Elsie Mima Reid

Reid, Elsie J. “Mima” - Truro. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie “Mima” MacDonald Reid on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, age 91 years. Mima had a passion for people; she loved being with people, learning about their lives, sharing laughter and stories. Mima had a lively intelligence and a natural curiosity about the world around her; she was an avid reader. Mima was a kind and compassionate woman. She contributed significantly to her community, church and many charitable groups. With wonderful memories, Mima leaves her son George (Monika) and daughter Mary; grandchildren, Skye (Garrett), Jolene and Erickson (Caitlin); great-grandchildren, Andrea, Catriona, Collin; her treasured great-grandson, Nash; life-long friends, Robert and Sadie Latimer and Joanne MacDonald (Leslie); and a wide circle of wonderful family and friends. Mima was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald; son, Harold; her parents, George and Mary (McMeekin) MacDonald; and by her sisters, Isa Erickson, Anna Druce and Jean Grant. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Truro, on Saturday, May 16th at 2 p.m. Family interment later in Preeper Hill Cemetery, Shubenacadie. No visitation by request.
