Obituary of Margaret Marie Arsenault

ARSENAULT, Margaret “Marg” - age 73, Stewiacke, passed away at home Thursday, July 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late James and Edith (MacKenzie) Powell. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald “Don”; daughters, Cathy (Tom) Nixon, Natalie (David) Retfalvi, and Lisa (Trent Hayes) Arsenault; granddaughters, Crystal, Nicole, Ashley, and Kristina; great grandchildren Jonathan and Grace; sister, Carol MacKenzie. The most important thing to Marg was her love and devotion to her family. She was an amazing wife and mother. She had a large circle of cherished friends and loved entertaining. Marg was dedicated to community service and was recognized by the province for her significant contributions to child welfare in Nova Scotia. She volunteered continuously throughout her married life. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting, cake decorating, cooking and country music. The family would like to give a sincere thank you to the Colchester East Hants Palliative Care and VON teams for the compassionate care they provided to Marg. Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Ettinger Funeral Home. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service 11 am Monday, July 6, in St. Andrew’s United Church, Stewiacke, Lori Crocker DM officiating. A reception to follow in the church hall.
