Obituary of Robert Burton Sharples

SHARPLES, Robert B. “Bob”, East Stewiacke, passed away peacefully April 9, 2018, in the Mira, Truro.  Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Wesley and Mabel (Allen) Sharples.

He was a meteorologist, employed with Environment Canada for 33 years.  He was passionate about bluegrass music and was involved in every aspect of it; organizing, attending and performing at festivals.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Anne; daughters, Kim (Joe), Katherine (Kevin) and Krista (Andrew); grandchildren, Alex (Bekah), Brittany (Aaron) and Hailey; great grandson Walker.

He was predeceased by his brother, Ken.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie A Funeral Service will be held 11 am, Saturday, April 14 at St. Andrew’s United Church, Stewiacke.

Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Pine Grove Cemetery or St. Andrew’s United Church.
